Midi Scale effect wrong?

Post by TE1973 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 7:29 pm

Hi,

I'm just learning music theory. In all of my books 'A minor' consists of A,B,C,D,E,F,G,A. (All white keys).
So when I use the Live Midi Scale effect 'C Minor' and change to 'A Minor' I expect that it does not correct
anything as long as I play all the white keys because they all belong to A minor.

Even more strange I also have a plugin called W2 Harmonizer which also shows the keys belonging to a selected
key. Here A minor again does not only consist of all the white keys.

I know that there are different minors, but I am speaking of NATURAL A minor which I expect to be the normal
minor in Ableton and in Harmonizer it is really called Natural A minor.

So, who is wrong? The books? Ableton? The plugins? Me?

Regards, Torben

Actually, its the preset that is wrong. You'll find a corrected one in this pack: http://covops.dreamhosters.com/dropbox/ ... 11.alp.zip
