Hi MrYellow,
I mean renaming the track AND removing the number automatically assigned by Live.
I use my own numerotation to deal with a lot of tracks and the numbers assigned by Live are confusing me...
And using Ctrl+E only allows changing the field after the automatically assigned number...

i wouldnt count on it happening.
channels have to have #'s for routing purposes.
if you make a wish, ask for the option to "hide" the #
as i doubt they will remove it entirely.

Yes, the persistent numbers are there for clear identification of routings.
However, I personally would also enjoy if they could be hidden in the track header. This is in discussion, but as usual no promises at this point.
Best, Robert

Well, If save a default track that doesn’t have the # then new tracks won’t have a track number... but then new tracks also won’t automatically adopt clip names.

Yep, a lot changes in 16 years in software.... this happens to be one of millions of changes that has happened in that time but good that some like to update these lost and forgotten threads occasionally for the modern users that wont read the manual

I'm wondering if the clip's name is a side-effect, or a bug...
