unable to adjust buffer size

I'm using a Fireface 400 and yet my overall latency is 14.8ms in Ableton. Also, my buffer size setting is greyed out and locked in at 256 samples.. I'm using ASIO driver. People on other forums are achieving a 5ms overall latency and have the ability to change their buffer size... please help

Check Chapter 11 of the PDF manual for the Fireface 400 ( http://www.rme-audio.de/download/fface400_e.pdf ).
Use the Settings by clicking on the fire symbol in the System Tray (right side of your menu bar).
You change the numbers in there, and it will change it in Ableton automatically (not sure if Ableton needs to be shut down when you change the Fireface's settings, so I'd just shut down Ableton, open the Fireface settings, adjust the buffer size and any other things you may want to change, then re-start Ableton and check Ableton's Preferences settings to make sure it got changed like you wanted).

yeah, the short version is; you don't change the buffer settings in Live.
