Keyfax Phatboy Controller

Post by Nutjob » Sun Apr 03, 2005 8:02 pm

Hi there everyone. This is my first visit here as you can see. I have just started using Live 4 Lite and I am well impressed. Before I upgrade to the full version I want to see if I can overcome my inability to use a phatboy controller with Live.

Can someone please give me a step by step guide to setting it up for use with live as everything I have tried has so far resulted in nothing.

I am using windows xp and a m-audio midisport 2x2 midi interface.

I cant get it to do anything and its driving me mental.

Are they useless or is there something obvious I am not doing.

Help me please. Cheers, Jamie.

I just tried on mmy setup at home to see if I can get my Phatboy working with my MicroKontrol. Works fine here. Here is what I did.

Go to options, then preferences and then click on the MIDI/sync tab.

In the Remote Control Input drop down you will need to choose yuour controllers. In my case it is USB audio controller for the Korg and then my soundcards Midi input for the Phatboy. You will probably need to select your M-Audio input here.

Then just hit the MIDI tab in Live, click on a pan or something and twiddle your Phatboy knobs and it should work.

My Phatboy is in mode 3 and using MIDI channel 1.

Hope this helps,
All the best,
Nev

Thanks for the reply.

I thought this was what I was doing, but I will try using those channels and mode suggested and see how I get on.
