Which you can also do non-destructively by right/ctrl clicking on your track and choosing "freeze track" which gives you the option of unfreezing it later to change compression settings or adjust other variables"

...then you have to flatten to get audio
this would be refered to to as Freeze/Flatten
flatten seems to give a better cpu bump than just freezing...to be verified

i just find freeze/flatten a faster way to get midi>>audio...you dont have to rec, wait for it, possibly have to trim, etc...

usually higher bit rate audio files will put more strain on the cpu. just a related factoid.
