MPD 24 + Ableton 8 glitches

Post by Likewise » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:40 am

Not sure what the problem is here but I've recently had a few new problems using my MPD 24 along with Ableton 8.

Seems that my MPD 24 is at random changing certain parameters (volume level) of some tracks. Seems to be completely arbitrary. These are tracks that have no automation. I'll adjust the volume to where I want it and begin to play the track and the volume will change ( in this case decreasing drastically to a level inaudible).

This glitch also seems to be affecting the back to arrangement button as while the MPD 24 is connected this button arbitrarily switches back and forth being lit and unlit, even without anything playing at all.

When I disconnect the MPD 24, these problems cease.

Anybody have an idea what may be causing this - its quite annoying.

Thank You

Ableton 8.1.3 MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8

I solved the problem here! It was my PRAM, I had to reset it.

SMC Reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

PRAM:

Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

So happy now!
