has anyone tried it? Its on my wishlist and im teetering on whether or not it would be a worthwhile longterm investment.

Same here. I can't understand why they don't have a demo version available. It's quite a steep price for something as specific as staccato strings, so simply hearing the audio examples and watching the promo videos (ZOMFG!!!111! 14 GIGAMOBYTES!!!11) is not a lot to go on. :roll:
