Just stated messing about with Looper today - its kinda neat.
Is there anyway of exporting each overdub as a separate clip of audio? Seems like a no-brainer when this whole convert-to-midi shizzle comes in effect in Live 9. Beatbox, hum and sing to build up a loop - export it out as audio, convert to Midi...BAM....composing!
Can this be done?
Can Looper export multiple layers of audio?
Re: Can Looper export multiple layers of audio?
Not once they're already layered you can't.
What you can do instead is don't use LOOPER - just record the audio straight into clips that loop.
That way they remain separate.
OR set up multiple tracks each with it's own LOOPER.
If you midi map the start stops of each LOOPER to the same control they'll run in sync.
Then just arm whatever track you want to record into.

Ah right - so a MIDI mapped control would start them ALL recording - BUT only the armed track would actually record.bigboz wrote:OR set up multiple tracks each with it's own LOOPER.

Then triggering the MIDI control would make them all stop recording, and your new loop would playback.
You then simply switch which channel is armed, and record again etc?
Is that what you mean?
Re: Can Looper export multiple layers of audio?
Yeah,or just record directly into clips.
Remember you can also set the LOOPER loop length before you record if you like,so you don't actually have to trigger it at the end.
But if it's for composing, maybe you want to leave it to the feel.
Either way,the LOOPERs will run in sync.
I posted a bit of a long winded explanation
on how you can get A<>B parts using 2 LOOPERs on one Track (and got NO replies
)
It's long winded to explain, but easy to set up and super easy to use if you like to work in a verse/chorus way
instead of being tied to one loop "theme".
It basically involves cross-midi mapping two adjacent LOOPERs on each track,so switching from A to B and back is in sync.
You can use it on multiple tracks and they all sync too.
All REC - OVERDUB - PLAY - SWITCH BETWEEN A>B etc functions of all the LOOPERs are controlled by only 2PADS.
So the only extra controls you need are to arm individual tracks or undo etc.

Re: Can Looper export multiple layers of audio?
If you want to a nice loop interface but record and be able to edit single layers afterwards the One Button Live Looper might be what you are looking for. It is a M4L device which can access up to 10 tracks to record clips (audio and midi) via one button/interface - you can check it out here: https://blog.abletondrummer.com/live-lo ... eton-live/
