Multiple live sets for live performance...arrangement view?

Post by Moo10 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 5:43 pm

Hey everyone, I"m looking to perform out live with 8.3.4 and I've got a number of tunes (arranged fully in arrangement view) that I'd I'd like to play in one continuous set (in arrangement view), seeing as I've got tempo changes, cues built in and I can follow the track as it's going, etc. The problem comes in when I drag a second song into arrangement view, where the warping and/or tempo gets all jacked.

**See picture for example** What I do now is that I open a new set, drag song 1, 132 bpm, from the finder into the project. This will load just fine (with exact tempo markings). Then I drag song 2, 120 bpm, from the finder into the project, which, in arrangement view, will stack on top of song 1. I have to highlight and drag song 2 to the end of song 1--no problem, so far so good. I then turn on the "show automation in new lane"and drag the tempo to go from 132 to 120 between songs. This should all work out perfect except when I play song 2 the tempo and/or warping are all jacked and it sounds off.

Is Ableton not pulling the warping information from song 2 into the track? Am I even able to drag multiple songs into the arrangement view and make it work? I've heard of people working with the session view, making a master file and launching via scenes but that's not what I'm trying to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Craig
