Good Day all,
I was wondering if anybody here has managed to resolve a situation where a PC is running Ableton Live as a master and a Mac/Hackintosh is running Logic Pro and both systems are connected via MIDI in a configuration where they are synced and will play together? I believe this is a master/slave scenario that has something to do with the MIDI clock.
If anyone could advise me how to achieve such a scenario I would be greatly appreciative.

Re: Ableton as Master Logic Pro as slave
to be honest that's mainly the midi clock thing.
You need to establish midi connection between both computers
(You may do it via LAN or WAN, google for midi over lan, wifi )
and force both to communicate this way: ableton sends its internal midi clock message, logice receives external midi clock - check the logic manual.
After You run both the ableton gives the midi clock, so logic won't start playing until You start ableton, however - I guess - after starting ableton won't force logic to start automatically.

yeah logic cant be slaved apparently. only can run as master

This is wonderful information, thank you, I had no idea that I could do this over the LAN, I will be googling with much gusto.
I guess I had also better check whether Logic can be slave or Master.
MIDI master/slaving appears to be the solution to me CPU blow out issues!
