Live efx (infra-)structure

Post by Mbazzy » Sun Dec 08, 2002 9:37 am

Well this won't be of much help to me, cause I'm no developer whatsoever, but I know many dsp-gurus are lurking here around ...

Sooooo ... Ableton, I'm quite/very impressed by the quality of the Live native efx ... beside the obvious C++ programming skills of the developers, I'm sure the quality draws from the overall nifty quality from the overall audio-engine.

Are there any plans to open-up the Ableton Live efx specifications to allow third-parties to program for Live?

They already support 3rd party fx and they're called VST effects.

The SDK is freely available from http://www.steinberg.net

That I know of course ... I mean the platform of th LIVE efx themselves ... though I suspect these are tied pretty close to the overall Live programming/audioengine

Would be really nice if there was an SDK available for the Live FX though. ;)
