128 rack with layered samples?

Post by vanngogh » Wed Dec 12, 2012 12:03 am

Hello all-

I'm trying to figure out how to program a 128 Drum Rack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwJ0_pWftRU) with the ability to layer samples.

Essentially, I use 3 instances of multiband dynamics on my kicks/snares etc. I solo the low frequencies on one, the mids on another, and highs on the third (for a kick), basically mixing 3 or more kicks to make one fat, punchy sound.

However, I can't find a way to do this within a 128. What I've been doing is finding a sample I like with my macro knob, then going into the sampler and finding said sample, finding it in my library, and finding more samples to fill in the higher or lower frequencies... It's gotten to the point where I lose my flow, and so I came to ask for some help!

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated

Why not just make the drum rack cells multis? Layer up your hits in the drum rack itself.
