video loop triggering in clip launch

I've been wanting to use Ableton to trigger video clips for visuals, and it would be pretty amazing if I could do this via the clip view. Ideally, it would be great if I could actually embed video data into an audio or midi clip. I've been told there's ways to do this while using video software and setting up dummy midi clips routed to trigger the video software, but it would be preferable if I could do it all in Live.
