PLEASE HELP STUCK MIDI PROBLEM

I have a kontrol s2 im trying to use with live 8... I used it on my old computer worked fine but on the new one im having problems... ableton recognizes it i have it selected in input devices with track on... when i turn knobs the key/MIDI in indicator does not light up... the MIDI track in indicator lights up instead... I dont know what the hell the difference is besides I cant midi map anything unless the key/MIDI indicator lights up... my novation launchpad works fine... btw I have windows 8 could this be the problem?

Did you enable Remote in preferences for it? That may be all you need to check the box for.
