New in Ableton -> Moderator !!!

Post by waldo » Sun Apr 17, 2005 12:58 pm

look guys ...up there above the index.

looks like we are getting moderators after Monday .

Will it be one of our own ?
will it be one of the ableton crew themselves ?

can we file in proposisions ?
are we gonna have to vote ?

who's running for vice-moderator ?

so many questions , so little attention span.

Yeah, I think it's just a phpBB thing. In the meantime, it's still anarchy.

...not that I have a problem with that, per se. ;)

Yes! New from Ableton:

MODERATOR

A dramatic new plug-in for Live that eliminates the need for feature updates. Simply drop "Moderator" in any Audio or Midi track and, through a series of low frequency tones and flashing lights, a complacent trance is induced, instantly "moderating" the desire for PDC, freeze function, groove quantization, arpeggiator, etc.

If this is anywhere near the truth its a longtime coming. With so many topics being repeated over and over again and again. IMHO This would be a very welcome change.

Why would a moderator make any difference there?
It's not within sensible moderator guidelines to delete a thread simply because the question's been asked before.

I'm one of the NI forum moderators. My duties are to provide information to the forum users and to forward issues with the products to NI. There's only been two threads locked down since I've been moderating- in both instances for disrespect towards forum members; and the only thread I've ever deleted was at the request of the author.

I saw a thread the other day on osx.audio.com, where the moderator was like, (to the dude who posted first) "yeah, I totally agree, but this belongs in this thread" and locked it. Great use of efficiency. Totally subjective, but overall it did wonders fo efficiently searching a common theme. I wanted to tip the dude!
