Oh man. You don't wanna I there. I've got the same problem. It sucks soo bad. Everyone compliments me on my dirty sound, but I'm just furious that my old gear can't get that crystalline modern digital clarity!

^ This. Get a hold of an old Akai sampler or MPC drum machine, and record your drum mix to cassette tape.yur2die4 wrote:Oh man. You don't wanna I there. I've got the same problem. It sucks soo bad. If you don't want to go down the hardware route, experiment with Saturation, Bit Reduction, Compression, Distortion, and Tube effects.

Are you using drum samples from vinyl?hobz_ wrote:I wanna know how mndsgn and knxwledge get there drums so dirty and punchy and there overall lo fi sound?
Have you used Live's redux bit reduction yet? The soft downsample at 12/13 bit setting with drums sampled from vinyl tend to go a long way. Try that and tell me if you like the sound.
