rendering midi arrangement to wav renders a silent wav file

Post by moltres_rider » Fri Mar 01, 2013 1:37 pm

ok using Live 8 on Windows 7, I load a midi, apply grooves to each track, preview, it previews with sound but when rendered to a wav file, it renders SILENCE!!! I am new to Live and have NO idea what I am doing wrong!! I'd post this in the ask other users section of the website but 'ask a question' button ALWAYS redirects me to the 'ask a question' page and unable to ask ANY questions!!!

Did you highlight the region you want rendered? You do this in Arrangement View.

You can put it into Arrangement View either by global record, and letting it play out, or dragging the clips into Arrangement View.

This is assuming that you have instruments on the midi channels.

Another possibility is that you have the midi channel output going to a different source that is not within the Ableton Live program (sometimes it'll play off the chip built into your soundcard). If that is the case, you have I find a way to record that sound.

Try the manual. Or start a new project and get more practice using Live :)

Glad I could assist
