I cant see my sample packs in Live 9!!!!!

I've just tried adding a folder in places. Dropped all my sample packs to it and they are not showing up!!!!

Everyone told me the new browser is shite, I've been playing for 5 minutes and already it's killing my mojo (opposite of the desired effect I'm sure!!!)

Someone please help

Did you have live open when you dropped your sample packs in there? At least with the last beta, so presumably the release as well, live will not pick up changes to places directories while live is closed and then you re-open. So you have to have live running when you add/remove samples from your places

Did you have live open when you dropped your sample packs in there? At least with the last beta, so presumably the release as well, live will not pick up changes to places directories while live is closed and then you re-open. So you have to have live running when you add/remove samples from your places

I've just dragged a pack from where it is stored on my hard drive to the places folder and it copied it!

I've tried setting up a new folder and putting all my samples in it and it only sees my vengance packs and zero G pack. None of my loopmasters/sample magic packs can be seen unless i copy them to the folder which means taking up more space on my hard drive!

you might try making a symbolic link, depends on which OS your on. I had an issue where I wanted to see my geist samples but when I dropped its content dir into live nothing would be indexed. I had to create a symbolic link to it in my other samples directories for it to be scanned. So maybe its something similar

it seems that if you move files-ie sample packs from one place to another one (desktop to an external drive ) Ableton does not recognize the change in location.. I've moved them back-and it does not show them. I've added new folders where I've downloaded sample packs-its like its stuck back at the moment when I moved files around to free up space....Really sucks bc it makes the workflow very tedious. I have to copy and past samples externally, and it's not fun.

Keep in mind that live indexes files so it can search and browse faster especially from Push.

If you move a large number of files it can take a while to reminded them. Also, ensure in your OS running tasks that the indexer service for live is running.
