Will install of live 9 "overwrite" my 8 installation?

IE will I still be able to open live 8 fine after installing live 9?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. If I have Live 8 Suite with max for live, but only want to pay for standard live 9. Can I still use all the suite and max in live 9?

Whats the best way to implement it all into live 9?

The "best" way is a hard one; it can work differently for everyone.

You can simply keep Live 8 in its entirety around and use it besides Live 9.

Or you can also chose to de-install all the livepacks from Live 8 which you also installed in Live 9 (thus saving diskspace, otherwise packs would be installed twice on your hd) and then simply starting to copy (or move) presets from the Live 8 library into your Live 9 environment (the new 'user library' is the best place for all that).

Cool, I would eventually like to fase out live 8. Not sure I completely understand what you mean here but I'm guessing i'll have to just play around once I have Live 9 installed.

Does it mean I can still use my Max4Live instruments and effects? Will I be able to access them easily or will I have to change a few library paths around?

Ok, so Iv'e just installed the new Ableton Live 9. All went well. But when I go to load a project that was using max for live devices, they do not appear and tells me to configure the max app folder location. So I did.. The same as I did in live 8. But nothing shows up in my browser. Nothing in the max for live area... Nothing in the audio effects area... And nothing in the user library area either.

I Have then tried dragging the devices into lives browser and effects rack but they do not come. I am coming to the conclusion that I need the latest version of max right? 6? In fact i think this is whats happening... I currently have max 5 (with live

Any thoughts?
