VU Meter are delayed from the sound coming out?

Post by Emperor12 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:39 pm

Just trying Live 9 and Live 8 was the same...is there any reason that the VU meter on each channel (what you see) are delayed from the sound coming out of the speakers? it seems like it is 1 half beat or a whole beat behind the sound coming out. I am at only 4 ms latency. Thanks.

There is a massive debate been going on on this forum and on the beta testers closed forum concerning this bug that you are seeing one symptom of. It is connected to a much much more serious shortcoming regarding the Live's audio engine plugin delay compensation, or more precisely the lack of a working delay compensation.

Another symptom of the bug is that when you playback automation that you have in your project the actual point that the automation lanes are executed varies depending of the amount of plugins in your project and constantly shifts when you add or remove plugins.

In the beta testers forum this bug was number #2 of _all_ the shortcomings that should be fixed immediately in Live.
