WHAT ELECTRONIC ALBUM WOULD YOU RESCUE IN A FIRE???

Post by Whistlers » Fri Mar 22, 2013 11:18 am

If pushed - what would be your 'emergency' electronic album of choice?

I wrestled with the following;

I care because you do - Aphex Twin
For Beginner Piano - Plone
Martes -Murcof
Black Sands - Bonobo
One Word Extinguisher - Prefuse 73

In the end - I would rescue MUSIC HAS THE RIGHT TO CHILDREN - BOARDS OF CANADA

I would leave small children and the elderly behind to make sure I rescued my Download "III" album.

Hmmmmm. J Saul Kane's Depth Charge Peel Session tape. It's been copied so much it has its own sound now, heavy as a sleeping chubby bird. SILVER FOX!!!

Something like this is the only thing I understand rescuing from a FIRE!
Everything else is pretty easily replaced nowadays, dont'ya know?! :wink:

But if you ask about my favorite electronic album, I'd go with: Dominik Eulberg, Flora & Fauna.

Showed me for the first time that Techno (actually more Minimal) has not only the purpose to shake your booty for 16h straight on E, but has whole worlds that can open in your mind!

my most expensive album, right now, is my copy of MY BLOODY VALENTINE's LOVELESS. i know it's not "electronic" but i would save that record.
at this point, most of the electronic stuff i have, is easily replaceable.
however, if i owned any BOARDS OF CANADA albums....i would grab one or all of those guys. BOC albums are close to $200.00 on ebay!

In case of a fire I'd probably save my very limited Underworld Live in Tokyo 3 cd. Apparently it's been sold for between $100 and $300 ( 8O ) on discogs.
