How to get this LFO-VST to affect a parameter on my synth ??

I don't have Max for Live or Live 9 but i want to be able to put an LFO on parameters of my choosing.
I found this free LFO Vst (midi-vst?) http://lfox8.0fees.net/ <---that's it
Ableton doesn't let me drop it in next to my synth (FM8 in this case)
I tried following the directions on this site: http://hgsounds.com/news/vst-plugins/ar ... eton-live/
Which basically says to set up two midi tracks. one with your synth and one with your vst and re-route one into the other. But, it still didn't work for me.
(i also have done a midi learn/configure on the parameter in fm8 so that its automatable in ableton,...i just want to be able to modulate that parameter with this lfo-vst)

Does anyone know how to get this to work ? thanks.

Isn't there a VST host that allows you to drop multiples into it? Try going that route and see if it works. I don't recall the name, check maybe at KVR forum. Also are you running 32 bit or 64 bit Live (assuming 8.x here)? Is that plugin 32 bit or 64? If you are running 8.4 64 bit you won't be able to run any 32 bit vst's unless you invest in JBridge. If all 32 bit, I got no clue.
