RECOGNIZING the Behringer FCB1010 w/Windows USB Alesis iO4

Post by kspssd » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:44 am

I read through many comments and questions/replies regarding use of this device, but I can't get it to even RECOGNIZE the device.

I am having trouble getting Ableton (Windows) just to RECOGNIZE the Behringer FCB1010 foot pedal plugged in through my USB Alesis iO4 MIDI port.
I assume the FW410 comments are regarding the Alesis firewire unit (Same as my USB?), but I do not understand how these settings are enabled/manipulated. In Ableton I thought I would just need to pick a MIDI control surface, under Preferences/MIDI Sync.

Can someone clue me in on what I'm missing? Sorry if this is basic. Thank you very much for your time.

Using the FCB1010 can be tricky .... I found the solution using it with Ableton Live here, hope it helps.

Thank you for mentioning the iFCB product.
From what I read previosuly, this seems like a MAC product. Is it also WINDOWS? or did I miss the point?

Thank you.

I sent the developers an info request also.

I don't think Live will "recognize" the FCB, but it will receive MIDI messages from it if you connect it to your MIDI interface and press the switches. Do you see the Live MIDI receive LED lighting up when you press a switch?

Dear kspssd,

There are a few steps to take for proper programming. There are several websites with great information. Try ControlAID:

i think thats the way it is for me, live doesnt register the fcb, it registers whatever you are using to interface the fcb with your computer, which in my case is a midi to usb cable. you activate that (whatever it's called, it might just be called usb midi or something generic) in the midi preferences then you can see live picking up midi from the pedal in the top right corner when you press a pedal and a light comes on
