MIDI speed in Live

Very simple question, how the hell do you speed up MIDI messages to Live?! I have an Akai MPKMini, and it is pissing me off. It has the tiniest amount of lag to throw me off the beat, and be off itself, even when Im hitting the j=keys IRl in time. Is this just the MPK? Im getting an MPK49 soon, is that USB any faster compared to this? Thanks in advance!

You do not specify what is your set up. This could be just latency. If youre in windows you can try with a soundcard. Or maybe an asio driver. Check asio4all.org. install it and see if it helps
