There are so many presets in the Live Packs I downloaded that it's easy to get lost.
It would be greatly beneficial if the user can RATE a preset clip/instrument/effect/sample/MIDI sequence as a FAVORITE and USER RATING.
USER RATINGS can be submitted to Ableton servers (if user agrees to submit tracking usage). Ratings will be 0-5 stars.
Users can then brows a Ableton Pack and review other user RATINGS for feedback.
The column for RATINGS is right justified on the users Browser Interface. The user then has the option to EXPAND the browser to view the following -
Your Stars | Community Average Stars | Link
The link will open the users browser where it directs the user to a forum section dedicated to Ableton Live Pack sounds. To be more specific, about that exact sound you clicked "LINK" on for other users to share their experience.
This way, I can get reconciliations of preset combinations for things such as "Rock Theme Song Patches" "Kids Theme Song Patches" "Haunting/Scary Patches" "Sci-fi Patches", etc
This feedback will also greatly benefit Ableton Live and PACK developers to improve products in the future.
Ableton 9 Browser - FAVORITES, STAR, AND FEEDBACK
Re: Ableton 9 Browser - FAVORITES, STAR, AND FEEDBACK
Kinda useless really... considering that there are much desired missing features that should really have been added prior to all this. The ability for the user to tag their clips, samples, racks & instruments is easy enough to implement (in the right hands), yet is strangely lacking from the Live browser.
I have spoken with my wallet and have not purchased Live 9. It's become clear that Ableton are ignoring users, whilst getting their heads lost in the "cloud".

Calling someone else's request useless is sort of rude. I too would love exactly what he's asking for.burningfeetman wrote:Kinda useless really... considering that there are much desired missing features that should really have been added prior to all this. Like burningfeetman I also think that DEV time could be much better used for more important things and personally I would even really don't like such a feature. As a producer you should imho really decide yourself what you like and what not - yes that means digging sounds and even presets. I also don't like this because an global rating system could lead to too much mainstream focus. Also it's too much cloud-communication for me. And even privicy conserns aside, this feature could also lead to a less responsive browser due to the data transfer to a server in the background. I don't like this for my profesional tools which I need to work.
