USB cord interchangable?
USB cord interchangable?
I need to use a longer USB cord to connect my Push to my desktop. Does it matter what kind of USB cord is used? I noticed that the one that came with Push has a round cylinder near the end that plugs into the device... any idea what this is and whether it is essential?
Re: USB cord interchangable?
Those round cylinders are on alot of cables, they are ferrite cores, used to reduce noise, but usually it doesnt matter, of course doesnt hurt either. It uses the usb standard, so any usb cable of the same type should work

Re: USB cord interchangable?
I have my work surface away from my computer too. I use an amplified usb extension cable (5 meters) between my desktop and a powered usb hub, in which my APC, IODock and Push are connected. All working fine.
