export delay/latency

Hey there, bouncing down some stems from a project. I'm soloing various tracks and doing separate exports for each stem/group: drums, synths, fx, etc. Working fine except the stems are printed late. This would be OK if they were all the exact same amount behind, but they're not: each stem is delayed a different amount. Shouldn't they all just be delayed by the total system delay at the bounce? I don't see why having some tracks solo'd or not would make a difference, but it does. Very annoying in that I can't be sure that the stems are lined up exactly right. I've now put a little sound at the beginning of each (like a clapboard in movies to sync sound) but it would be nice if I didn't have to do this and exports were delayed the same each time (or compensated for as they should be). Any ways around this?
