Notation - Copying midi data to Sibelius?

Post by StooB1969 » Thu Jul 04, 2013 10:04 am

Is it possible to create a midi track and copy some of that data into Sibelius for notation? If this is not possible are there any other programs out there the can turn a track/clip into music notation?

Save your MIDI clip and load it into Sibelius. That should do what you want as far as I can think. I don't use Sibelius (MuseScore is one I am looking at using, Finale Notepad or Crescendo were others on the free side that are also ones I was debating on. But saving your MIDI clip/progression or dragging/dropping it to a folder from Live should suffice. I forget which format Live defaults to, here is STD0 and STD1 and would have to look them up to recall the differences. But it has to do with multi-track stuff if my hazy memory recalls. Live doesn't handle one of the two formats well at all unless they resolved that issue (i.e. I had to pick apart a file so Live would split the 3 instruments in the file into 3 separate tracks some time ago).
