Can i change the default keyboard keys for playing notes
When i play notes on my laptop i use the default keys a,s,d,f etc to play the white notes etc, can i change which key plays which note? ie instead of pressing key A and playing a C could i change it so when i press A it plays a G? I've tried key mapping but it wont let me

The keyboard keys have to be the same but you can use a Pitch midi effect to transpose the notes coming in, so if you have an armed midi track specifically set for the Computer Keyboard as the input, you can have the Pitch midi effect on that track, then have other midi tracks receive from the Computer KB track.

Yeah thanks guys didn't think it was possible bit thought it was worth asking, was thinking it would be nice to be able to map a scale so there all in a line, think its about time i brought a midi keyboard!

It is possible. On a lower level you can use a midi effect rack and put a Pitch device on each separate Key if you wanted to.
