Programming my Masterkeyboard

Post by Kevinos » Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:05 pm

Hey Ableton Community,

since I can´t find a answer to my question, i´m gonna try to get a hint here on how to programm my new Masterkeyboard correctly.

I´ve bought a Fame Tweak 49 Keyboard (http://www.musicstore.de/is-bin/intersh ... 94-000.pdf).

It offers Pads and Keys (and lots of Faders and stuff, but thats not the Problem here).

How can I programm Ableton, so that I can play Drums-Sounds on the Pads while simultaneously playing a Synth for example on the keys? I think I have to reprogramm something, to tell Ableton (or the keyboard itself?) that its got to receive 2 Channels. Is this a matter of the keyboard or can I set up a script in Ableton? To be honest, i read about the scripts, but i didnt really get it. Neither am I sure if a script is the solution im looking for.

It would be very kind if you could help me with that, or give me a hint on what i should search for

Greetings from Mainz, Germany,

Kevin

I don't read German so don't know if your keyboard can do this but...

set the drum pads (within the keybaod config) to use a different midi channel (i.e 10) than the keys (which will be on channel 1 for example).

Then in your Synth track in Live, set it to receive midi just from channel 1,
And on your drum track in Live, set it to receive midi just from channel 10.

I just downloaded Midi Monitor, which tells me that the Pads are already sending on channel 10 and the keys and sliders, etc. on channel 1. Im gonna try to find out if i just need to adjust some stuff in Ableton and give an Update then.

So the Problem basically was, that I set the 2 Channelstrips in Ableton to both use "All Ins". No that i specified the channels to receive, its working fine. Thanks anyway for your help!
