Exploring non-affecting high/low-pass filter

Post by abirdwhale » Thu Jul 11, 2013 8:08 pm

I am exploring high-pass/low-pass filter for my Live performance and DJing.
I found both 'Auto Filter' and 'EQ Eight' affect sound even if I keep 'Freq' at the highest/lowest point.
I do not want any affection when I dont bring the filter down/up.
Now I managed to use two 'EQ Three's for my purpose. I have attached the screenshot of how I set.

The drawback of my procedure is the difficulty of bringing the parameter back to 0.00 dB with hardware/iPad controller. I need to type in '0' on my Mac, which is a bother during the performance.
Another disadvantage of it is that I cannot control the resonance of the filter.

Could you kindly give me advice if there is more simple or better way to do so? Perhaps any third-party plug-in?

Many thanks,

using the auto filters you could map the on/off for each filter to the lo hi macros so that it doesn't affect sound when not in use.
also you could add a map to the res so it increases as you sweep
