Any PUSH in Canada?
Any PUSH in Canada?
The PUSH unit I ordered directly from Ableton in March is stuck in Canadian Customs.
I have not been able to find out what the problem is, but I speculate that it is due to improper country of origin paperwork.
I am curious if anybody in Canada has successfully imported a PUSH controller.

Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
i ordered mine through moogaudio, arrived about 7 weeks ago.
Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
7 weeks ago!?! moogaudio eh?
My mistake, thinking it might be faster to purchase from the manufacturer.
I won't be ordering directly from Abletron again!
I can't believe Ableton chose to ship across the Canada-US border with USPS handing off to Canada Post.
I would have paid more, too much even, to ensure the package had the proper Customs paperwork and a custom broker who could be in the loop and held accountable.
This whole fiasco leaves me with a sick feeling and a bad taste in my mouth.

Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
I too am awaiting Canada Customs to process my Push. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that enough of these units are coming into Canada that a back log will push the paper work through faster. Otherwise, I guess I'll call it a Christmas present and hope it makes it here in time.
This whole experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Even if it works perfect (and the forums point out a number of issues) the lack of communication with their customers, waiting for manufacturing, and then having them ship it via the US, my response to my friends is going to be along the lines of ... ya, it's great, but what a real pain in the ass to get one ... It will have to blow me away to be willing to recommend buying one.
Someone pass the mouth wash... I fear that this is far from over.
(Custom's dues, processing dues, GST... how much extra will I have to pay?)
(What's the warranty going to be like if it's this hard to get one that is new?)
(Just to name 2 issues I'm pretending don't exist... la la la)

Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
Mines' been in customs since the 17th (shipped on the 11th of July, ordered in March). If they were going to ship via USPS, it should have been express not priority.
Now according to the email I received from ableton, they shipped USPS to save us brokerage fees.
This really shows they know very little about shipping from the US to Canada. Canada posts website states they charge a $9.95 processing fee if your item has duties or taxes. They are also notoriously slow; especially if it's being shipped to Western Canada. (Also they have a tendency not to update tracking info till AFTER delivery).
UPS on the other hand will charge you a fortune for brokerage fees if shipped using the "cheapest" method they have. BUT.. if shipped Expedited, Express (including worldsaver) or better, their will be NO Brokerage fee. Just duties/taxes.
Worldsaver would have been about the same cost to ship as using USPS and I'm sure it would have cleared customs within 3 days.
That said. Why the hell don't they ship from Canada using a CANADIAN ableton agent rather than from the USA? Would save us the grief and extra costs.
Ableton offered me a 10% discount, good till October, for any new software purchase.. for my inconvenience... LOL

I am in the same boat. Ordered in April. Charged my credit card on June 28th. Was told there was a delay in shipment on July 8th. Notified that it was shipped on July 11th from Austin, Tx. Now it has been stuck in customs in Mississauga since July 17th. Boooo, Ableton, with hardware supply chain.

Yeah. Got the bill already from Mastercard.djanson wrote:I am in the same boat. Ordered in April. Charged my credit card on June 28th. Was told there was a delay in shipment on July 8th. Must be the same shipment.
Customs guy 1 "Whats with this pile of boxes marked 'ableton push'?"
Customs guy 2 "They're a Canada Post shipment."
Customs guy 1 "Oh. We should get on this right away then!"
Customs Guy 1 and 2 look at each other and burst out laughing.
Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
I was in the same boat, but it looks like mine just cleared customs about an hour ago. Here's hoping it's the same for everyone else!

Yes!!!
Interestingly enough I sent a request for ableton to try and sort this out this morning. But I don't think they were at work as it would have been evening in Berlin.
Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
Yes mine cleared today too. Funny how the tracking info has now disappeared completely from Canada Post, though.

Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
Hmmmm, ya! (I think)... USPS says it's cleared customs... and now (that it's in Canada) I can't find it using Canada's posts tracking at all. (It was tracking fine until released from Customs.) {sigh} Maybe tomorrow it'll make more sense.
Re: Any PUSH in Canada?
I'm not seeing any tracking at all on the Canada Post site either, since the USPS report that it cleared customs.
Given Canada Post's history I'm not expecting any tracking info until the package is delivered.
I'm hoping get a card sometime next week saying it is at the post office waiting for me to pay an extra $130 or so for customs and hst.
