EXS import and locating samples

Post by 0x80 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 5:13 pm

I have some Goldbaby kits in EXS format, from the Urban Cookbook library. As I understand it Live Sampler is able to import this format. When I open the EXS file Live asks me where to locate most of the samples, which is a real pain obviously. Is there a way to make Ableton search automatically in a folder and its subfolders? Can I add folders to Live and have it scan through all its content or does this maybe only work for the User Library subfolder? My current sample library folder is not in the Ableton User library, since I use other DAWs as well.

Never mind I found the instructions for EXS format, the library assumes you install the files in a specific location. And since Sampler doesn't support standard round-robin mapping of the EXS format (afaik) I guess I'm better off using Kontakt for this anyway.

Or you could use the .wav files to create 128s of goldbaby goodness.. that's what I did
