Ableton on a Touchscreen - Who has done this ? opinions ?

Post by Jonny B » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:04 am

Hi there,

Been awhile since been on the forums here, hope your all doing well.

Im away to update my Laptop which I use for Club work with a usb/midi mixers.
and run VST like sylenth (would be cool on a touch screen)

Now seeing all the Touchscreen Laptops made me want one as would be awesome for DJ and FX.
I've seen it done but not on a laptop basically a external monitor

I didnt like Vista or win 7 (due driver issues and also found XP faster)

Windows 8 looks alright. Anyone use it or If I got a touch screen laptop is it worth it or restrictions /problems ?

Any help much appreciated!

Lives GUI is not made for touchscreen use.
On stage I'm using this: http://www.surface-editor.net/
There are also other software options for Windows and ways
to build your own control GUI for Live. But you always
have to go back to Live & mouse for certain tasks.
In the studio I can see no use for a touchscreen.
