Folder Names with "Synth"

Post by jestermgee » Mon Oct 21, 2013 10:42 pm

Just finalizing the last touches to my Omnisphere preset browser for Push and I noticed I have an issue with folders that start with "Synth" browsed from the User Places. It removes the work Synth and replaces it with ....

For instance:

I have all folders displaying fine and when I scroll down the list I will see:

Shimmering Synths
Sweepers
Swelling
.... Brass
.... Fifths
.... FX
Textural Synths

The 3 folders that should say "Synth" are replaced.

I only noticed it this morning before I headed off for work and haven't looked further but can anyone confirm by creating a User folder called "Synth Brass" or something and drop a file in there to browse.

Also, does anyone know on Windows 7 where the file browser library database file would be held? I assume when Live indexes files it would create a .db file somewhere with the index. I nwould like to delete that and re-index just to check.

This is what I am talking about:

I have spent the last 3 hours checking this and it doesn't make sense. The word "Synth" appears to be a target for this issue and so does the word "Bass"

I created a test folder with just a folder called "Synth Bass" and sure enough when I browse to it it just says "...Bass". If I then browse files in this folder, half the results that should have Bass on the end or start are missing the word "Bass" too.

If I rename the folder to just "Synth" it displays fine AND the files that had issues with names now display as expected.

This happens in Live 9.0.6 and the latest Beta.

Bug submitted but has anyone seen this at all?
