Hi
I am seriously considering taking a leap into a controller/performance hardware + software package to get my long-dormant creative juices flowing again.
I can get Live 9 Suite + Push at discount until Jan (£628), and it works on Win XP (which my main DAW is still running, although I also have an i5 DAW Win 7 laptop).
Maschine Studio is quite a bit more (about £900), doesn't run on Win XP and appears to be basically a sophisticated beat machine AFAICS ... is this correct ?
So I am definitely leaning towards Live+Push - but I keep reading about a serious PDC bug in Live creating some major timing / sync issues for some users. Can someone clarify this, and whether it is as bad as some make out ?
Are there alternatives to these two ?
Thanks

If God did exist (and he doesn't), he would answer to the name of Maurizio.

You could also go for Live + Push and get a secondhand MK1 additionally, which is my personal setup. I use Push for Live and Maschine to trigger my Komplete Plugins. I have a bunch of Plugins and no issues regarding to PDC.
Totally agree with you! This guy rocks!BC wrote:If God did exist (and he doesn't), he would answer to the name of Maurizio.

There's no PDC issue with Ableton plugins... and if you buy the Suite version you won't need extra plugins.but I keep reading about a serious PDC bug in Live creating some major timing / sync issues for some users. Can someone clarify this, and whether it is as bad as some make out ?

Ableton + Push can do more, but are not as well integrated as Maschine and Komplete are.
Maschine is great, but you will run into limitations you don't like.
Then you will probably buy Live anyway.
But also it has to be said: Komplete sounds a lot better and is, well: more complete.
So it's not an easy decision!
I hope I could help

But for someone just jumping in, maybe a little much.
