Push and odd time signatures?

Post by VitjaB » Fri Nov 22, 2013 5:42 pm

Lately I'm in a big search for best Live controller. I wasn't interested in a pice of gear which is useful just for one task. Especially for the price like this. Now, when I saw the videos of Stray and his NativeKontrol for Push, I'm impressed!
Since you have a note sequencer it is far best thing around, but what I found on net was just a 4/4 time signature sequencing.

Since my music is mostly not 4/4, this is a major consideration for me.
I just cant imagine sequencing 11/8 in 4/4 grid. Especially when you sequence 8 bars or longer loops.

Can anyone drop me a link on something that is not 4/4 and 8 bars long.

This is my only consideration so far on Push. And yes, I'm ready to go 9 just for it, but I really need to see how does it work.

Thanx!

I just tried out sequencing some drums in 11/8 and as i expected the sequencer tracks in the time sig of the clip. So you can sequence in odd meter with the push.. its actually allot of fun.
now sequencing more then a bar or 2 could get a little tricky because the push is an 8x8 grid so if you have 11 beats per measure and 1/8 note is the beat then it will cycle in an odd spot. but you can sequence 1 or 2 bars at a time then combine them. of course you could always just play the notes which the push excels at.
