My Launchkey 49 does not auto-map to the pads to launch clips either on Ableton 8:4:2 or 9 Lite - any suggestions please

my suggestion is to start a protest and get everyone who is stuck with the same issue to swarm on novation and ableton because i have been suffering from the same annoyance since i got the launchkey. after hours (and i am being kind by saying hours) with novation tech support (who by the way were more clueless than myself) got it to work once and then next time i tried it, no recognition. it is an issue with your computer actually. something to do with port recognition or at least that is what novation and ableton tried to pawn the problem off to.
for a product that is sold in conjunction with ableton (even offering a demo disc for ableton) one would think it would work.
like a lot of hardware products, it is sold with all these features that in the real world don't work and then instead of trying to make them work with driver updates they just move onto the next "new" product they can reach in your wallet to tempt you with.
sorry for the rant but after 3 months of futile research these are my feelings. good luck.

When I first got mine, it wouldn't automap either. The problem was not having the latest version of live. If you're fully up to date and it's still not working, you should be troubleshooting things like the driver installation.
