I would love a device which you could set on any track (or master) and it will automatically record all audio from that track into a revolving buffer. The idea would be to have it constantly running to record any "happy accidents" when you're screwing around for future resampling, without having to remember to set up a resample track.
You would configure a buffer time (1 min, 2 min, 5 min depending on your computer's resources) and it would be constantly recording the last X minutes of whatever you're playing (and overwriting anything before that, like a security cam), then you would have a "print" or "save" button to save that audio to a clip when you just played something you liked.
Does a device like this exist? If not, does it sound possible to create? I don't know how to program in M4L yet but I'd be willing to learn if I could construct a device such as this.
Is there a "Buffer Record" device to automatically resample?
