I have two hardware synths. Both are setup using the external instrument plugin. When the Synth 1 track is Record Armed and I twist some knobs it somehow effects the parameters of Synth 2 which is unarmed. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Both synths are on completely independent midi interfaces (one on Maschine, one on RME Fireface). How on earth is the data getting from Synth 1 to Synth 2? I am using OSX Mavericks, is there some system level routing I should be thinking about here?
One thing I am doing is using Synth 1 as a master keyboard and I have midi learned some of the knobs to DIVA, but that is about it.
totally boggled

Problem - routing of MIDI to a track that is not armed
Re: Problem - routing of MIDI to a track that is not armed
What are the MIDI input settings on the tracks? If Synth 2's track is set to "all ins" then tweaking synth 1 will also affect synth 2. The track doesn't have to be record armed to tweak parameters, only to record automation or MIDI notes - this is so you can tweak stuff live without having to record it every time.
The solution if this is the case is to switch synth 2' track's MIDI input to "no input" or just itself.

All IN's! This has to be the issue. I learnt something today: Record ARM is for Notes and Automation, everything else just get's thrown around to all tracks regardless of track Arming.
Not sure if I understand at this juncture how this is actually beneficial, but I will do some testing and get back to you with what I find.
Thanks so much!
