Line 6 TonePort UX8

Post by maylortaylor » Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:42 pm

I have been given the opportunity to buy this item (Line 6 TonePort uX8) from a friend.

Since Line6's website sucks and you must register your product before asking a Q about it. I have come here.

Does anyone know if the Line 6 TonePort ux8 will work with OSX 10.9 Mavericks?
EDIT: It works with Mavericks apparently -- LINK
also

How is the UX8?
-- from the Amazon reviews, it's not that great. But then again, all of the issues on Amazon seem to be user error of some sort or not knowing how to work the system properly (latency)

I had the ux-1, I think. I was amazed at the sound and no latency. Of course, it's not the same as a real amp, but it's cheap, compact, and versatile.

Thanks for the input.

From all I've seen online the UX series isn't all that terrible. I would be using this mainly in a live setting. Using 2-4 inputs to play/record into Ableton while on stage. (look at the band EOTO)

THE ONLY CONCERN I HAVE is that the UX8 ...for some reason...doesn't have Midi IN/Out (wtf Line6)

And I haven't tried using a MIDI to USB cable on my UC-33 and I'm nervous it won't work.

I've a KB37 also and love it - it's a similar interface to the UX series only with keys and modest midi controls. I use it as my stage rig with my Windows lappie

the PodFarm vst stuff for GTR sounds pretty darm good, as well
