Problems getting Live Lite 4 GTR working with Black Box
Hello,
First post here, but I hope someone can solve my problem. I'm running the new M-Audio Black Box into my Dell D600 laptop via USB. I've installed everything and I can get my computer to recognize that the Black Box is connected, but when I try to play anything into Live Lite all I get is this scratchy noise instead of clean crisp audio. It just sounds like white noise or distortion no matter what sounds are played (the guitar or drum machine). I can tell Live is receiving a signal because when I stop playing or turn the drum machine off the input goes silent, but the audio is unintelligible otherwise. I've messed around with the preferences and I believe I have everything set the way it is supposed to be set. I can run the demo and hear the sounds that are part of the demo, but no dice when I try to input my own sounds via the Black Box. What could be my problem? Driver issues? I've got the latest drivers installed.
Help! I love what the Black Box can do and Live looks fantastic, but I can't use either of them together without fixing this problem.
Thanks for your time and God Bless,
John

Problems getting Live Lite 4 GTR working with Black Box
Hello,
I too would appreciate this being replied to. Get the impression the words 'runaway ,runaway' apply?! Anyway, i too was baffled by this. I found a solution, by just randomly clicking frantically, but eventually worked out what you have to do. When you have your instruments connected through the m-audio box, and are essentialy ready to record, click on preferences and go to Audio > Output Configuration. Switch everything off and back on again, and that should fix it. Seems this recalibrates something or other. But i think its crap that no patch has been released. Shame, as otherwise its quite a nice bit of kit (apart from the ridiculously small font they use).

You just haven't found the right combination of buttons yet.jcoulter43 wrote:Oh, BTW, I did download and install the firmware update for the blackbox. The amp models are spot on! I love the blackbox but hate the Ableton recording DAW. But, I'll try the fix and see if that helps any.
Thanks again!!!
IMO, Live was the Only truly great thing about the BB.

Post a screenshot of your Audio settings (Preference dialog box.)
