Assuming there is no money issue, what is the best MIDI keyboard (61 or 49 keys) for live performances?
I want to use it with Ableton Live and the tasks I mostly use and want them to be easy using the keyboard,
are switching between sounds, clips, scenes including solo/mute options.
I am currently considering Novation SL MKII and Arturia KeyLab and would appreciate your thoughts on these keyboards as well as any other ones you recommend...
Thanks!!
Best MIDI keyboard for live performances 2014?
Re: Best MIDI keyboard for live performances 2014?
Those are excellent choices! I own the Novation in 25 key version, only because I already have other full keys and mostly just wanted the controls. I'll tell you right now, the drum pads on it are next to useless, if you intend to make use of those.
Korg has a new keyboard out. I wish they had something larger than 49 keys on it. It is both a midi controller and a classic synth. This is one of the first times I've seen someone make the USB controller aspect be on the forefront. Onboard sounds could be a nice backup plan. Or just a way to keep things fresh
