Launchpad Newbie - please kick my arse ;-)))

Okay now I get the idea of not being able to have a neat PDF to refer to AND the fact that I won't get a dedicated programming surface for the Mini (as I do for the NanoKontrol and Nano Pad) but here's my question:

Can I assign the MINI's Pads to freely chosen CC's (I guess that would have to be done in User Mode 2) thusly controlling LIVE 9 - and still get my light show with the LED's?

Here's my simple usage I am shooting for:

(first, ALL I do is in ARR mode - which is the way I must work. All songs are in one looooong Time-line.)

The Mini's buttons are only recalling songs which have Markers at their start.
Said Markers already have CC's assigned to them which I would like the Mini to call up those very same CC's. (Don't wanna use notes for good reason)

As I choose a particular song, per the first Pad (which should glow steadily), a button near it lights up (flashing) and shows me very clearly what to hit if I want to execute the next command (say, loop the solo)

My thing is very acoustic and organic sounding, brazilian music and relies on very elaborate backing tracks played by studio cats here in L.A.

Session view is not my thing.

Is this sort of understandable (half of the important stuff is still probably stuck in my head LOL)

The above scenario actually would require me to program several buttons on the mini to the same CC!! (can I do that??)

Thanks for all your brilliant insights in advance guys
Stephan

I do not know if the Mini supports Automap, but Automap may be your first option. Automap only lets you use red colored LEDs, and I don't know if it conflicts with Launchpad mode. A bonus is that it also supports keyboard commands. I'm not 100% sure also of the save states in automap. I've had mixed results through the versions.

Aside from that you're looking at either having a different program retranslate the midi or scripting/max stuff.
