I Need New Soundcard help!

Post by PAMPANOISE » Sun Mar 16, 2014 3:14 pm

Hi,

My set up at the moment is PC windows 7, krk8(pair), Ableton 9 + push, prophet 08 DSI and i've got the AK1(Audio kontrol 1) soundcard from NI.
When i'm recording stuff with my prophet 08 through the AK1, i feel like i'm loosing in quality. I'm thinking of buying other hardwares and i'll need more inputs.
I will need a soundcard that contains 6 or 8 Inputs 24 bits, that will improve the quality of my synth recording and that works generally fine with PC , Ableton and electronic music. I would like to spend not more than £500.

I did my little research and it sound like the Motu ultralite Mk3 would be the best but i've seen many bad reviews about it for pc users. If you are a pc user, got the motu mk3 and love it! please let me know. The Saffire PRO 40 fron focusrite sound not bad as well.

I'm open to any suggestion.
Thank you.

If would have thought the NI stuff would be decent quality.

But consistently hearing from other forum guys, everybody seems to love RME if you desire sound quality.

When I was on Windows I had an Echo Layla 3G which sounded pretty transparent but the preamps weren't great.

I also had a Presonus Audiobox which sounded pretty similar to the Echo but slightly better preamps but still not great.

if soundcreation is your hobby for the next 10 years - you can go with rme.
my multiface 2 rockin solid awesome investment - but what i`ve heard UAD is also fracking.

so i think i would not go for the midcaps when it comes to the audio-interface
