QUESTION ON MIDI CLOCK - TEMPO

Post by NYC3E » Wed Mar 19, 2014 2:15 pm

Just wondering if anyone else seen this and if there is a fix.
I am tring to sync traktor midi clock to ableton and ableton to traktor (hardware midi from S4 controller to hardware midi on external audio interface). In ableton I select the hardware midi as the clock source since i'm plugged into it with a midi cable from S4, on tracktor I send signal out from S4. I have it working so when I start my traktor clock the ableton transport starts as well. The muisc from ableton and traktor seems to be in sync however the tempo clock on ableton is incorrect. example if i'm at 100 BPM on Traktor it show 110 in ableton.

Let me know thanks,

for clarity's sake, bear in mind that midi clock sync is a master-slave arrangement (not handshake as your post implies). if your traktor S4 is set to master (or is simply outputting midi clock) and ableton live is set to slave AND you're getting midi clock info at ableton AND you have "EXT" turned on, the clocks should be lining up. make sure your sample rates are set the same (sorry, i'm not familiar with traktor nor am i familiar with your particular setup).
