HELP! Preassigned MIDI CCs

Post by AaronYeo » Sat Mar 22, 2014 12:43 pm

are driving me mad. I've got a new Quneo and it's great, except it outputs such a massive range of data, and is causing me trouble with certain plugins. Certain plugins that open up with several MIDI CCs already assigned. Like, I get it, I'm cool with pitch bend and mod wheel and sustain pedal being pre-mapped... but I've noticed some other random ones as well.

For example, in Kontakt with Sonic Couture's Hang Drum instrument loaded, all of a sudden CC 41 controls a certain knob in the plugin. CC 42 and 43 control other knobs. Knobs I don't want to be controlled. However, in the automation list in Kontakt's shell, it says CC 41-43 are not assigned to anything. But they certainly still work... I think it's the instrument, because in the same shell if I load up Amore's Grand Piano CC 41-43 don't change anything I can see.

Another example is Image Line's Autogun - I haven't figured out which one yet, but some random CC is preassigned to the volume knob in the plugin. And there's no way to unassign it, it seems.

Anyone have any pointers or workarounds or advice? Is there some plugin that effectively blocks MIDI CC input, except for specific ones? Or something?

I can change the Quneo to output different CCs but that disrupts the pattern, and who knows the new CC might change some other parameter without me noticing.

Map those CCs to something useless in Live. Then they'll be predisposed.

There should be a better solution but that is all I can think of :/

Thanks. Hm, I tried that but they still interact directly with plugins...(as well as what I assigned em too).

It works if the plugin is not in an armed track, but my setup relies on arming multiple tracks at once. I've decided to take the temporary route of disabling certain CC outputs but I keep on stumbling upon more the further I go...

Ah, with a bit of searching (okay a lot of searching) found this plugin here: http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ndcmidi.htm

Can use it to block CC input from a certain range. Hopefully I can just pop this on to all my tracks so MIDI controls only go straight to globally assigned stuff. Left my controller at home today though, will test and update later.
