Mute/Solo Buttons in a Drum Rack driving a VSTi

This has been busting my chops for a while.
I like Drum Maps in Live. I can set them up to drive VSTs (Battery, Addictive Drums, Kontakt drums, ect.) pretty well, but I cannot get the mute/solo buttons in the rack cells to do anything. This has been annoying me for three years. Is it possible to do? Maybe with some Max for Live tricknology? If it is impossile, that's fine, I can close the file, so to speak.
Please advise;
