i was thinking, to duplicate the drum rack, sidechain that to the original, then put a gate on it. then record that MIDI from a new channel, and finally, put your drum rack in that new MIDI channel.
gotta go test this.

MIDI sidechain for jamming on arrangement
say i have an arrangement of drums. i want to jam on that arrangement while i'm recording.
i was thinking, to duplicate the drum rack, sidechain that to the original, then put a gate on it. then record that MIDI from a new channel, and finally, put your drum rack in that new MIDI channel.
