And now: Something completely different. Live 5 is here

Post by hoffman2k » Wed Jun 01, 2005 9:43 am

This forum is going down the gutter this way. It seriously has to stop.
People around here getting offended by being called an elitist by people with a post-count of 7. Then others joining under another nickname to throw some fuel on the fire in those "s" threads.

And don't get me started on the profanity

But we can change this all back you guys.
When is the next major update to Live?
Will Ableton release some other products?
Will there be a user-platform for sharing sample's and presets?
Will mac users ever get dual cpu support?
Will the new product specialist have a better english accent?
Will Ableton make it so that after the next update, every live user has the operator?
Or do we need to start saving some money for some german engineered midi controller?
Who is going to win the songcontest? Who is your idol?

If i have to. I'll ask thousands of questions. Anything to get this forum back to a stage where it is fun again to devote hours and days of your life, just to share some of the cool stuff you can do with Live. Just to get a simple "thank you" in return.

I miss the golden days. I have made allot of friends on this forum. And it's cool to meet like-minded people. Because discussions become more productive that way.

Some people may behave like elitists. Ok...
You wonna know what those people have in common?
They all know they have the coolest piece of music software on the face of the earth.

Common. If we all join up. Maybe we could get some details about the next update.

Cheers

I'll take 3 hoffman2k,,

yeah, some people should put a stop to posting threads on ridiculing people/dj/musicians like djsasha and the like cause feelings are precious and tender.

if one should replace envy with good thoughts.., like the shape of a duck and how it walks.., the dozy aloofness of a pigeon and their slow careless pace to get out of the way of a monster (car), a sheep :D
hurry up.... mr squigle....

i was thinking the very same thing last night.

i agree with the simpler, presets thing
i would like a forum for posting your creations

you should check out...

We Are The Music Makers

its got a great forum thing going on - most of the music i've listened to in the past couple years has come from there, if only ableton had something like that

it looks like what's happening at the moment happened last year just before the forum became registered user only .

i was against at the time because i knew it would not change a lot of things .
it looks like i was right .

look ,if i want ,i find a new user name, pick up any email adress i want from whoever ,& come on the forum to insult everyone .it would take me 2 minutes .

Bjorn,

I have a BB right now. It will take me 5 minutes to create a Live forum. Just give me the word.

I have to confess I have a lot of fun from the OT threads but I would like someone responsible lifted them into a "Whatever" part of the forum.
I'm spending some time at the Plogue forum and things are mostly sober there, but the OT sidewalks start growing like mushrooms (strange metaphore), and I'm partly a part of that.
I'd like that people stayed responsible for their sigs.
Hide and seek may be fun but it flattens the forum spirit.
And yeah, I'd like more of useful things in this forum.
I'll try to behave myself.

Call me a prude but I take offense to that gif, mosca. There's a time and a place and this is neither. Please remove it.

Honestly, THESE !?!for me any time any place. Nature is the greatest artistic inspiration. I rather see such natural healthy stuff then seeing the stupid name of silly, sissy, musicaly impotent, non musician that some of the kiddies here worship like some vinyl god.

When is the next major update to Live?
Two theories: this summer for NAMM, or this fall for some other show.
The song contest may be priming the package for Live 5, or it may be mollifying us for wanting it sooner and getting it later :D
Will Ableton release some other products?
No, they don't need to and it's expensive to do so.
Will there be a user-platform for sharing sample's and presets?
Sponsored/provided by Ableton? So you can get free stuff? :) what, do you think Dystopia grows on trees? :) No, too legally troublesome and administratively costly at the moment.
Will mac users ever get dual cpu support?
well, i would guess eventually, it's more a matter of the tools the app is built with being able to facilitate it, I think.
Will the new product specialist have a better english accent?
No, she/he will have a better German accent :)
Will Ableton make it so that after the next update, every live user has the operator?
No, but they will make it so that people who plunked down for Operator will get a sweeter deal.
Or do we need to start saving some money for some german engineered midi controller?
hmm... not sure about that, i think those CME keyboards look pretty good.

Who is going to win the songcontest? Who is your idol?
I will throw something together in the next 40 hours, and it will be me.

I eschew idolatry. 8)

The forum should be split up some more, so you can safely ignore the "ihatesacha" part.
